Four-time champion India performed in the second consecutive match in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup. The U19 Team India played its second match in the tournament on Tuesday. In this match, they bowled out Japan for just 41 runs. This is jointly the second-lowest score of the Under-19 World Cup. India scored the required runs in just 4.5 overs without losing wickets. Along with India’s memorable victory, many records were made in this match.
This is India’s second win in the ICC U19 World Cup 2020. They have defeated Sri Lanka by 90 runs in the first match of the tournament. India is in Group A in the Under-19 World Cup. Apart from Sri Lanka and Japan, New Zealand is also in this group.
In the match played on Tuesday, the Indian team defeated Japan in just 22.5 overs. Not a single batsman from Japan could touch a double. Five of his batsmen could not even open an account. Kento Ota Dobell and Shu Noguchi remained top scorers of their team scoring 7-7 runs.
From India, Ravi Bishnoi took the maximum of four wickets. Kartik Tyagi took three and Akash Singh took two wickets. One wicket went to Vidyadhar Patil’s account.
India had an easy target and had no difficulty in registering a victory. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returned unbeaten after scoring 29 and Kumar Kushagra 13 runs. The Indian team achieved the target in just 4.5 overs. In this way, the match was 50–50 overs. That is, the match in which 100 overs were to be played, it was reduced to just 27.4 overs.
