Rohit Gurunath Sharma is a right-handed batsman and asporadic right-arm off-break bowler. He is an Indian international player who represents Mumbai in domestic cricket and captains Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Rohit Sharma was born on 30 April 1987 in Bansod, Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The right-handed batsman began his international career when he was 20 years old, making his one-day international debut on 23 June 2007 against Ireland. Rohit Sharma has a vigorous ODI career, with the distinction of being the only cricketer in the world with three double-tons. Hishas equally been righteous in the shortest format of the game. The 33-year-old has featured in 224 ODIs, 111 T20Is and 38 Test matches for India with a combined return of 14,594 runs. This includes 40 centuries and 77 half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma has also engraved his name as the most successful captain in the IPL with five trophies, the most by anyone in the tournament. Under his captaincy, Mumbai has won the IPL in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. They have also won the former Champions League Twenty20 competition in 2013. Rohit Sharma presently, as of March 2021, has 5230 runs with a decent average of 31.31. This also includes a century, 39 half-centuries and 15 wickets to his name.

In 2018, Rohit became the second Indian batsman to amass 2000 T20I runs and also became the first player to hit four T20I centuries. The year 2018 turned out to be a fruitful year for him in the Blue jersey of India as he even successfully led the country in the Asia Cup and the Nidahas Trophy.
