Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir tested positive for COVID-19 after reaching Sri Lanka for LPL. Canada batsman Ravinderpal Singh who was snapped by Colombo Kings, tested positive for the novel virus earlier on Friday.
We will have to talk to the franchise owners and find somebody to replace Tanvir,” said Tilakaratne as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
Tanvir was himself a replacement player for the Tuskers for Wahab Riaz and Liam Plunkett as their overseas stars. Both of them pulled out of the tournament earlier only.
“[Singh] has been sent for treatment at another hotel in the area, which has been set up like a hospital. He is not at the same hotel as the others, and they are all in their bubble. The others will be training and preparing for the tournament as usual,” said Anil Mohan, CEO of the IPG Group company, which is organizing the Lanka Premier League.
