The two-Test series between Team India and Bangladesh begins from Thursday. The first match between the two teams will be played from November 14 at Holkar Stadium in Indore.

Team India will be eyeing a dominance against Bangladesh in the longer format as they have been pretty competitive as far as the Test cricket in concerned in the recent past. Virat Kohli is now looking set to surpass former captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on the list of most runs for India in Test cricket. Kohli is currently at the 7th spot with 7066 runs (82 matches) while Ganguly ended his glorious career with 7212 runs in 113 matches. Kohli needs only 157 runs to go past Ganguly.

Sachin Tendulkar

Master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s name comes in the case of most runs in Test cricket for the Indian cricket team. He has scored 15921 runs in 329 innings of 200 matches. With this, he is ranked number-1.

Rahul Dravid
Former captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Rahul Dravid, called The Wall of Team India, holds the number-2 position with 13288 runs in Test cricket. For this, he has resorted to 164 innings.

Sunil Gavaskar
At the same time, Sunil Gavaskar is third in this list with 10122 runs. Gavaskar has done this feat in 214 innings of 125 matches.

VVS Laxman
VVS Laxman, considered the ‘Very Very Special’ of Team India, has scored in 214 innings of 134 matches. In this case, he is at number four with 8781 runs.

Virender Sehwag
Former India team explosive batsman Virender Sehwag is at number five with 8586 runs. For this, he has resorted to 180 innings in 104 matches.
