Former India captain MS Dhoni has left a legacy behind him after the wicket-keeper batsman hung his boots from international cricket on Saturday. Dhoni announced the news in an Instagram post. While he has retired from international cricket, Dhoni still holds a number of records in limited-overs cricket.
Winning three ICC trophies
MS Dhoni is the only captain in the world to have won all the three ICC trophies. He led India to World T20 in 2007, 50-over World Cup in 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013.
Most wins in the final as skipper (ODI)
MS Dhoni has won the most number of finals as a captain. He has led the Indian team six times in a final and has clinched the victory in four of them.
Most matches as a skipper
MS Dhoni has led India in 332 international matches- 200 ODIs, 60 Tests and 72 T20Is. Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has captained in 324 international matches.
Most stumpings in international cricket
MS Dhoni is the only wicket-keeper to have inflicted 100 international stumpings in his career. He has a total tally of 123.
