The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former captain Yonuis Khan as the batting coach for the England tour. Along with Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed has also been called as the spin bowling coach.

The three-match Tests and three-match T20I series is slated to take place in August-September. Younis and Ahmed will join Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis in the team staff.

“Younis’ work ethics, commitment to match preparation, game awareness and tactics in the English conditions will be invaluable,” PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said.

The move from the team management can prove beneficial as Younis has a lot of experiences and has been a part of the County cricket while Mushtaq has worked closely with the English team previously.

In 118 matches for Pakistan in the longer format, Yonuis scored over 10000 runs at an average of 52. He also scored 34 centuries including a best score of 313 and 33 half-centuries.

The right-handed batsman also played 25 T20Is for his country scoring 442 runs at an average of 22.1.
