Former India skipper MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday. Dhoni last played for India in the semi-final of the World Cup 2019 and had been out of action since then. India had lost that match and bowed out of the tournament.

While Dhoni was a master when it came down to making decisions on the field, he is known for doing different and distinguished things off it.

Former India batsman VVS Laxman shared an interesting incident while talking on the show Cricket Connect. Laxman told that Dhoni once drove the team bus from the ground to the hotel in Nagpur.

“MS Dhoni asked the team bus driver to just go and sit behind, and he drove the team bus from the ground to the hotel in Nagpur, and we were all awestruck. The captain of the Indian team, driving the team bus!”

“That’s how he used to enjoy his life. For him, being a cricketer was doing everything on the cricket field, but outside the field, everything was normal,” Laxman said.

Dhoni is the only captain in the world to have won all the three ICC trophies. He led India to World T20 in 2007, 50-over World Cup in 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013. He has won the most number of finals as a captain. He has led the Indian team six times in a final and has clinched the victory in four of them.
