The competitive cricket for women has returned with the bilateral series between Germany and Austria. The two sides played another game on Thursday and Germany got their first ever T20I centurion when Janet Ronalds struck 105*.
Ronalds’ opening partner Christina Gough too chipped in with an unbeaten 65 as Germany compiled a score of 191/0 in 20 overs.
In reply, Austria were bundled out for 53 in 13 overs losing the match by 138 runs.
Jo-Antoinette Stiglitz scored 17 while Emma Bargna scalped a fifer. Suzanne McAnanama-Brereton and Antonia Meyenborg picked up a couple of wickets a piece.
Germany also registered their highest-ever total in T20Is and also stitched the second-best opening stand across the world in the shortest format.
Ronalds also became the first-ever male or female German cricketer to hit a T20I ton.
