India captain Virat Kohli was on Thursday slapped with a fine of Rs 500 by Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) after his domestic help was found washing the car with drinking water.
According to ABP news report, Kohli’s neighbours lodged a complaint, stating that thousands of liters of drinking water were being wasted in washing the vehicles by the cricketer’s domestic help.
The 30-year-old is presently in England for the ICC World Cup 2019. India began their campaign on a positive note beating South Africa in the first match in Southampton by 6 wickets. They will now face Australia on a Saturday in London.
This is the first time that Kohli is leading India in World Cup. He was a part of the Indian team in 2011 and 2015 editions of the tournament.
