Salt Pond Breakers continued their winning run as they defeated Dark View Explorer by 8 wickets in the 14th Match of the Vincy Premier T10 league played at Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St Vincent on Tuesday.

Dark View Explorer captain Lindon James won the toss and decided to bat first. Shammon Hooper looked impressive with their stroke play but Deron Greaves struggled to time the ball.

It was a disappointing batting performance by the openers. Donwell Hector provided the breakthrough dismissing Hooper for 32. Deron Greave’s struggle ended as he was dismissed by Delorn Johnson for 11 off 15 balls.

Explorer Captain Lindon James played a cameo knock scoring 20 off 14 balls. He was dismissed in the last over. It was a good bowling effort by Pond Breakers as they restricted Explorer to just 73 for 3.

Chasing the modest target of 74 runs to win, Pond Breakers lost an early wicket of Kadir Nedd and Donwell Hector without contributing many runs. Sunil Ambris looked solid and impressed with his stroke play. Urnel Thomas took the attack to Explorer side with a quickfire cameo. Both added unbeaten 52 runs for the 3rd wicket. Salt Pond Breakers won the match by 8 wickets with 10 balls to spare.

Pond Breakers have been in superb form so far winning all their five matches and are at the top of points table with 10 points. In contrast, Dark View Explorer is currently at number 3rd with 4 points.

Salt Pond Breakers 77 for 3 in 8.2 overs (Sunil Ambris 34, Urnel Thomas 24, Deron Greaves 1/3) beat Dark View Explorer 73 for 3 in 10 overs ( Shammon Hooper 32. Lindon James 20, Donwell Hector 1/9) by 8 wickets.
