Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal certainly escaped a ban from the board after he was alleged of losing temper during the fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Akmal had indulged in some heated arguments with the trainer last month during the test at the NCA. The trainer subsequently reported the matter to head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had later released a statement stating that the batsman had offered an unconditional apology for the incident.

The right-handed batsman hasn’t been a part of the Test team since September 2011 while he has been in and out of the side in the limited-overs format too. He last played a T20I for Pakistan in October last year against Sri Lanka.

If the speculations are to be taken into consideration, Umar would be slapped with a ban from the national one-day cup due after the PSL but his timely apology saved him from bowing out of the tournament.
