India U19 team continued their dominating run in the World Cup after marching into the semis on Tuesday. India registered a berth in the semi-final after Australia by 74 runs in Potchefstroom.
Batting first, India were restricted to 233/9 in 50 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with 62 while Atharva Ankolekar remained unbeaten at 55.
In reply, Australia didn’t really have a great start to the chase and were soon reduced to 17/4. Sam Fanning did show some resistance and scored 75 but his efforts went in vain as he ran out of partners at the other end.
Kartik rattled Australia’s middle-order and picked up four wickets at the cost of 24 runs in 8 overs. India eventually bowled out Australia for 159 to win the game.
