Australia U19 team unfolded a tremendous display of composure after they defeated England by 2 wickets in Kimberley in their Group B match.

Batting first, England managed to put 252/7 in 50 overs, thanks to a good opening stand of 67 runs between Ben Charlesworth and wicket-keeper batsman Jordon Cox. Charlesworth scored 82 before getting out to Connor Sully. Later, Dan Mousley’s unbeaten and brisk 51-off 44 anchored England to a defendable total.

Australia were in control of the chase until they lost skipper Mackenzie Harvey for 65. Harvey’s dismissal saw a flurry of wickets as the Aussies were reduced to 206/8 in the 46th over still needing 48 off 26.

Then came Sully’s late surge who hammered 35* off just 20 deliveries including three maximums. Australia eventually won the match to remain at second spot with two wins and 4 points in their group.
