Trent Rockets won by 2 wickets after beating Manchester Originals in the final in London. They chased down the target of 121.

Andy Flower | Trent Rockets Coach: Very proud of this team. This was quite a difficult pitch, both teams’ character shone through. I was happy Gregory was on strike at the end, he is quite a cool customer. (On Rashid and Shamsi) Both those guys are world-class bowlers, brilliant for any franchise. But Carter is a good bowler, he’s smart and skilful. He held his own tonight. (On Sam Cook) He’s not a 90mph bowler, but very smart and nails his yorkers. Malan and Munro have been outstanding this year, Malan’s is great form and very confident. Quite pleasing it was a team effort. A strong argument to have Malan to open in Australia on good wickets.

Dawid Malan: Winning is more important than all the runs I scored. It worked well for us this year, we got our combinations right. Today was a really tricky wicket, happy to get through. Unbelievable crowd, the atmosphere was brilliant. It’s a great feeling to win a tournament at the Home of Cricket.

Alex Hales: Exhausted with all the running around. For us to get the win, really feels special. It was really nervous, especially for watching because there’s nothing we can do. (On Dawid Malan) He’s been outstanding, the tone he set for the rest of the tournament was amazing. Real joy to bat with him.

Lewis Gregory: It was nice to be there at the end and get the team over the line, pretty special moment. (On final six) I tried to get it off the middle of the bat, we needed some boundaries so I had to go for it. Credit to the Manchester guys, they did very well to make this a contest. One good thing about this squad is someone has always put their hand up, we haven’t put many feet wrong in the competition, happy to get over the line. The surface was a bit tricky, but glad to get over. This is an amazing place to play, we’ve enjoyed our cricket here. Now it’s time to lift that trophy for the fans.

Sam Cook | Hero of the Match: I think this is a speechless feeling. It was a brilliant tournament, enjoyed playing and to cap it off with a trophy was great. I’ve played a bit of T20 cricket here before, so we’ve spoken about bowling yorkers and that was the plan. We’ve had an amazing atmosphere, the coaches and support staff have been phenomenal. (On Andy Flower) He’s an incredible coach, he’s won numerous competitions and he’s really led us to that victory.
