Former India spinner Sunil Joshi was recommended to replace MSK Prasad as the head of the selection committee. The BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has recommended the former India cricketer for the job.
The CAC comprises of Madan Lal, Rudra Pratap Singh and Sulakshana Naik and the three members met in Mumbai to take the call on Wednesday. Apart from Joshi, former seamer Harvinder Singh was also recommended for the panel.
Joshi and Singh will replace Prasad and Gagan Khoda while Sarandeep Singh, Devang Gandhi and Jatin Paranjpe will continue to be a part of the panel.
The three members will finish their tenure at the end of this year.
Sunil Joshi has played 15 Tests for India where he has scalped 41 wickets at an average of 35.9 including a fifer. Joshi has also represented India in the ODIs where he has picked 69 wickets in 69 matches at a healthy economy rate of 4.44.
