Former Australia captain Steve Smith has regained the top spot in ICC rankings for Test batsman. Virat Kohli who was undone for a golden in the second innings of the second Test has dropped to the second spot. Smith is now one point ahead of Kohli.

Kohli led India to a 2-0 series win over West Indies away from home while Smith is with Australian side in England for the Ashes 2019. The Australian missed the third Test after suffering a concussion in the second encounter.
The Ashes is leveled at 1-1 with two matches to go. Australia won the first match while second ended in a draw and lost the third one.
