BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s elder brother Snehasish’s wife has tested positive for COVID-19. Earlier, Senhashish’s mother-in-law and father-in-law also test positive for the same last week. He is the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) secretary.
Apart from this a domestic help at CAB secratary’s Mominpur home was also found positive.
“All the four complained of some health issues, which were similar to the symptoms of Covid-19 when they were staying at another residence and not at Ganguly’s ancestral house in Behala. After testing positive, all the four were shifted to a private nursing home,” a senior official of the department said.
The four members will now be tested on Saturday again and the decision on their treatment would be taken then.
The coronavirus outburst has caused the sporting events to come to a standstill. Earlier, the Indian Premier League (IPL) was initially postponed till April 14 and then for an indefinite time.
The Indian team was slated to play a bilateral tie against South Africa at home but this too was called-off. The World T20 that scheduled to take place later this year in Australia is also under dark clouds.
