The Indian cricket team is probably the best one when it comes down to chasing a total. The Virat Kohli-led team on Friday once again unfolded a superb display of batting after they got over the line against New Zealand in Auckland.

The visiting team was asked to chase 204 runs in allotted overs and they successfully did it in the 19th over by 6 wickets.

Earlier, Kohli after winning the toss put New Zealand into bat and the Kiwis hammered the Indian bowlers all around the park. They posted 203/5 in 20 overs after Colin Munro, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor chipped in with individual half-centuries.

But the total was never sufficient as first KL Rahul and Virat Kohli smashed the Blackcaps to a 99-run stand for the second wicket and then Shreyas Iyer took on the bowling attack to scored an unbeaten half-century.

First instance of five 50+ scores in a T20I:
C Munro 59
K Williamson 51
R Taylor 54*
KL Rahul 56
S Iyer 58*
