Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his desire to coach the fast bowlers in India. The right-arm fast bowler spoke about working in India during an interview on social networking app ‘Helo’.
“I will definitely. My job is to spread knowledge. What I have learned is knowledge and I will spread it,” Akhtar said.
One of the fastest bowlers to have played the game.
Akhtar was one of the fastest bowlers in his time who clocked 100.2 mph against England in Capetown back in 2003.
Akhtar has been making headlines for quite some time now. He first faced some backlash on social media for proposing a bilateral tie between India and Pakistan to raise funds for the fight against Coronavirus outbreak while he was later slapped with a defamation case by PCB legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi for using “inappropriate and disrespectful” during a video.
Shoaib Akhtar has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Kolkata Knight Riders owned by Shah Rukh Khan. The KKR was then led by the former India captain Sourav Ganguly.
He has played 163 ODIs for Pakistan picking up 247 wickets while scalped 178 dismissals in 46 Tests. Akhtar also played 15 T20Is for Pakistan and bagged 19 wickets in total.
In three IPL matches for KKR, Akhtar picked 5 wickets at a decent economy of 7.71.
