India opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the three-match T20I series after sustaining an injury during a domestic match as per sources. According to Sportstar, the opener is unlikely to recover in time for the upcoming three-match T20I series against West Indies, starting on December 6.

Wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson who didn’t get a chance in the T20I series against Bangladesh is likely to join the squad as the replacement. The selectors and the board received some heat after they didn’t pick Samson earlier.

The first T20I of the three-match series between India and West Indies will now be held in Hyderabad and Mumbai will host the third match after the city’s Police was unable to provide security for the clash on December 6. Hyderabad was to host the third and final T20I of the series.

“The BCCI has informed us that the December 6 T20I will now be played in Hyderabad,” Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) secretary R Vijayanand told ToI on Friday (November 22) evening.
