Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has said that he rates MS Dhoni as a better captain than Ricky Ponting. Dhoni is the only captain so far who has won all the ICC trophies (World T20, 50-over World Cup and Champions Trophy) while Ponting has lifted the World Cup as skipper twice in his career.
In an interactive Twitter session with his fans, Afridi picked Dhoni as the better captain over Ponting f or building a fairly new team ‘full of youngsters’. Answering a fan’s question, Afridi said, “I rate Dhoni a bit higher than Ponting as he developed a new team full of youngsters.”
Apart from this, Afridi also told the name of his favourite batsman and spinner in the world. The former right-handed cricketer rated Viv Richards as his favourite batsman while Abdul Qadir as his favourite spinner.
Afridi put his weight behind Australia’s paceman Pat Cummins as rated him as the best bowler currently.

Dhoni’s success as captain in limited-overs cricket didn’t stop here as his side also lifted the Champions Trophy 2013. India were also at the helm of position in Test cricket during his reign.
