Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been making some bold statements against India in the recent past. The all-rounder has now defended his words and said that he doesn’t really shy away from “speaking the truth”.
“One should always speak the truth, no matter what happens. I believe humanity is above everything else which is why I don’t shy away from voicing my opinion, even if it involves India,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
Earlier, the former cricketer was slammed for his controversial remarks against Kashmir. Afridi’s derogatory comments on Indian PM Minister Narendra Modi didn’t go well with the people as well as the cricketers. From Gautam Gambhir to Harbhajan Singh, a number of players have slammed Afridi for controversial statements.
The new addition to this list of players taking a dig at the former cricketer. Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh have criticised Afridi for what he said.
While Raina asked Afridi to do something for his own “failed” country rather than focusing on India, Dhawan went a step ahead and wrote that it’s pathetic that in the time of this pandemic, he is still talking about Kashmir. Yuvraj too expressed his disappointment over Afridi’s comments.
Bhajji bunltly said that he had crossed all the limits and the relations between the two cricketers are now ruined up. “I thought he was our friend but this not how a friend behaves. Ye badtameezi hai (It’s rude),” Bhajji said Harbhajan said on Sports Tak.
Afridi recently visited an area of PoK, where he is seen giving speeches between some soldiers and people.
