Former India captain MS Dhoni turned 39 on July 7. Dhoni’s wife Sakshi shared a picture on social media where Hardik Pandya and Krunal are also there. Krunal and Hardik had visited MS’ house on his birthday.
The caption of the picture read, “Missing the happy squad !”. Dhoni has been out of action since India’s exclusion from the World Cup 2019 after they lost to New Zealand in the semi-final.
He missed the tour to New Zealand while was also out of the squad that had to face South Africa at home but the series was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Dhoni had begun with the training for the IPL with his CSK franchise side at Chepauk but had stopped later after the tournament was postponed for an indefinite time.
The IPL will now happen in UAE but the details are yet to come out. The news was confirmed by the IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel.
While Dhoni leads the CSK in IPL, both Krunal and Hardik represent the most successful team so far of the cash-rich league, Mumbai Indians.
MI has lifted the cup four times while CSK has won it thrice. The MI and CSK were slated to play the opening match of the series at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Apart from MI and CSK, KKR has won the IPL twice while Sunrisers Hyderabad, Deccan Chargers and Rajasthan Royals have clinched the title once each.
