Two greats of the game, Sachin Tendulkar and Brain Lara have joined hands for a noble cause. The two players will lock horns with each other in the opening game of the ‘Unacademy Road Safety World Series’.

The series is a T20 format tournament where India Legends will be up against West Indies Legends at Wankhede Stadium here on March 7.

The series will have a total of 11 matches and it will feature some big guns from India, Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies and South Africa.

Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan are the big names from India while Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul from West Indies, Brett Lee, Brad Hodge from Australia, Jonty Rhodes from South Africa and Muttiah Muralitharan, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Ajantha Mendis from Sri Lanka.

While Wankhede will host two matches, four out of the 11 games will be held in Pune, four at D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the final game will take place at Brabourne Stadium here on March 22.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar is the commissioner of the series and the games will commence at 7 pm.

The series is being held to create road safety awareness. Sachin and Lara were also a part of the match for the Bushfire that was held in Melbourne.

Both Sachin and Lara have been legendary players for their respective sides and have scored heaps of runs during the course of the career.

While Tendulkar holds the record for the most number of runs and tons, Lara smashed the highest individual score (400*) in Test cricket against England.
