Former India batsman Sachin Tendulkar holds numerous records. Tendulkar scored 100 international tons in his career. Former India captain Kapil Dev feels that Sachin had the ability to score hundreds but he hasn’t converted them into 200s and 300s.
“Sachin knew how to score hundreds but he never became a ruthless batsman. Sachin had everything in cricket. He knew how to score hundreds but didn’t know how to convert those hundreds into 200s &300s,” Kapil Dev told former India cricketer WV Raman in an interview.
Dev led India to win the first-ever World Cup in 1983. Tendulkar on the other side had been a part of the Indian team in the World Cups from 1992 to 2011. India won the 2011 World Cup under MS Dhoni.
In 200 Tests, Sachin scored over 15000 runs including 51 tons while in 463 ODIs, he notched up over 18000 runs and 49 centuries. Tendulkar also became the first batsman in men’s cricket to score a double hundred in ODI format.
Kapil on the other hand played 131 Tests for India and scored 5248 runs and over 3000 runs in 225 ODIs. He also scalped 434 wickets in Tests and 253 in ODIs.
