India Legends beat South Africa Legends by 56 runs in Road Safety World Series. India scored 204/3 in 20 overs riding on half-centuries from Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh. South Africa just managed 148/7 in 20 overs.
WHO SAID WHAT?
Yuvraj Singh | Player of the Match: It was great to relive those memories where I could hit sixes at will. After the fourth one I thought there’s a chance to hit the fifth if it is in my arc. The wicket was a bit sticky and two-paced but we got the runs on the board. This year I was working with my state guys a lot on death hitting, so head is the key and staying still.
Sachin Tendulkar | India captain: It wasn’t a bad start. The ball was coming on nicely and we didn’t lose wickets. We lost wickets against England and hence lost the game. Yuvi then did his thing. It is good to be out there and when you feel the sound when the ball hits the middle, it feels nice. I have to check with the physio. So far so good in the tournament and as when we are asked to take the field we are prepared.
Jonty Rhodes | South Africa captain: We were chasing a lot of leather. I thought we were in the game for the first 15 overs but they then took it apart. We are a little bit short of fit fellows in the backend. There are a couple of guys with icepacks on and lets see what happens tomorrow. We have an important game against Bangladesh coming up and looking forward to it.
