Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has said that former skipper MS Dhoni’s presence at the other end while makes it easy to bat.
Dhoni is one of those Indian cricketers who is considered to be the finest found in the modern era. ” Though I haven’t got many chances to bat with Mahi bhai, he is my favourite batting partner,” Pant said.
Pant also told that he enjoys batting with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan. Iyer, Pant and Dhawan now also play for Delhi Capitals in the IPL.
“I enjoy batting with Virat bhai and Rohit bhai. Batting with seniors is a different experience altogether. Being on the other end with them you realise how their mind works. I even love batting with Shreyas (Shreyasi Iyer) and Shiki bhai (Shikhar Dhawan)in the IPL.”
The aggressive batsman though has been out of action for more than a year now. He last played for India in the World Cup 2019 semi-final against New Zealand that India lost and bowed out of the tournament.
He missed out on the tour of New Zealand where India won the T20Is but lost the ODIs and Tests while his name was also not included in the bilateral tie against South Africa at home that was later called off.
He was expected to make a return in the IPL but the COVID-19 outburst has postponed the tournament for an indefinite time.
Pant on the other side has played 13 Tests and 16 ODIs for India.
