Dinesh Karthik and S Sreesanth.

Team India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has responded to the allegations made by S Sreesanth. He termed all the allegations leveled by Sreesanth as rubbish and said it was foolish to give any reply to his statement. Sreesanth recently alleged that Karthik was involved in getting him out of the Indian team. In response to which Dinesh Karthik said that it would be stupid to comment on his allegations.

“Yes, I have heard about S. Sreesanth’s comments that I was responsible for his ouster from the Indian team. Even to react to an allegation like that will be silly,” Karthik was quoted as saying by The Hindu.

Sreesanth was found guilty in spot-fixing in the IPL in August 2013 along with Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan. After which he was banned for life by the BCCI, but later his sentence was reduced and from last month his ban was reduced for the next seven months. However, Sreesanth has always denied the allegations.

Karthik is currently working hard to return to the Indian T20 team. His performance in Vijay Hazare was excellent. Karthik has scored 360 runs in 7 innings of 10 matches in this tournament, including 4 half-centuries. He averaged 72 during this period. During this tournament, Dinesh Karthik had said that he wants to play in T20 World Cup and he can play the role of finisher instead of Dhoni.

Karthik is out of the Indian team after India’s defeat against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019. Karthik’s bat remained calm in the two innings played in the World Cup.
