Sarfaraz Khan scored a double ton on the first day against HP.

Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan has followed his unbeaten triple-hundred with a double ton on Day 1 of the Ranji trophy 2019-20 match against Himachal Pradesh on Monday in Dharamsala.

The right-handed batsman notched his consecutive double ton in 199 balls. Sarfaraz came in to bat at number five when his side was reduced to 16/3. Sarfaraz along with Siddesh Lad provided some resistance but Lad too was sent back by Raghav Dhawan for 20.

Skipper Aditya Tare came into bat at 6 and scored 62 before getting out to Dhawan while Shubham Rajane remained unbeaten at 44 at stumps.

Earlier, Sarafraz scored a triple-hundred against Uttar Pradesh in Mumbai in a high-scoring game. UP posted a mammoth 625/8 (D) riding on a double-hundred from Upendra Yadav.

But Yadav’s effort was soon nullified by Sarfaraz who scored 301* and helped Mumbai take first-innings lead after they put 688/7 (D) on the board.

Mumbai got three points while UP just managed one as the hosts took the first-innings lead.
