There have been a number of films that have been made on the stories of cricketers in the film industry. From MS Dhoni’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni-The Untold Story‘ to ‘83, the movie based on India’s first-ever World Cup-winning triumph, the cricket-based flicks and web series are in plenty in number.
Seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar during a webinar organised by GainAccess Sports & Entertainment and SportzPower too picked up a Bollywood actor whom he wants to play his role if a biopic is made on the bowler’s life.
Bhuvi chose Rajkummar Rao to play the role. Rao has made a very good name for himself in the industry after working in the films like ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Ana’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2’, ‘Ragini MMS’, ‘CityLights’, ‘Aligarh’, ‘Trapped’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘Newton’, ‘Fanney Khan’ and some more.
“Once somebody suggested that Rajkummar Rao has a lot of similarities with me in terms of physical appearance. So he could play my role in my biopic,” said Bhuvneshwar.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the other hand has been a vital cog in the Indian setup for a very long time now. He has played 21 Tests and has scalped 63 wickets.
In one-day internationals, Bhuvi has made 114 appearances for India picking up 132 wickets while T20Is, he has 41 wickets from 43 matches.
Kumar has also been a consistent customer in the IPL. He has played 117 matches picking up 133 wickets at an economy of 7.24.
