R Ashwin has left behind the legendary Wasim Akram in Test cricket. The Indian spinner has achieved this feat by taking 416 wickets in the longest format of the game. Wasim Akram, who represented Pakistan in 104 matches, took 414 wickets in his career.

Playing in the 80th Test match of his career, he dismissed Will Young, Kyle Jamieson and William. Apart from him, Axar Patel also bowled well for his team. He took five wickets in the first innings of the ongoing Test at Kanpur.

Tom Latham (95 runs) and Will Young (89) made the main contribution for New Zealand. Both had added 151 runs for the first wicket.

In response to the Indian team’s 345 runs in the first innings, the entire team of New Zealand was bundled out for 296 runs. Team India got a lead of 51 runs. Axar Patel was the most successful bowler for India and he took 5 wickets for 62 runs.
