The Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India (PCCAI) is organising T20 tournament for differently-abled cricketers.

““When the going gets tough, the tough gets going”, this motto is usually used to describe champions players and champion teams. But it won’t be wrong to say that the Physically Disabled Cricket Players of India have shown exemplary resolve and determination during the tough period of Corona Pandemic. Sports as such has been at the receiving end of this tough pandemic period. The condition of Disabled Cricketers was much worse. But three individuals from Australia have come as Angels and guiding force for these cricketers. Mr Harley Medcalf (Managing Director, Duet Entertainment and Sport), Mr Mr Anand Chukka, (Founder of ICCL Cricketainment) and Mr Mr Praveen Nalla, Co-Founder and Managing Director(Piggy Smalls Australia) and Partner (ICCL) have come forward for the help of these physically disabled players and along with Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India have managed to help more than 190 disabled players durased in Australia have collected more than 9.5 lakhs rupees which were distributed among 190 disabled cricket players.”

“To express their gratitude and show their thankfulness, the Physically Challenged Cricket Assosiation of India is organising HAP CUP ( Harley, Anand and Praveen Cup). This Cup is also called as Happiness Cup to celebrate Disabled Cricket and their passion for the game. This Cup will be played on 3rd and 4th of December between three teams consisting players who have received help from HAP (Harley, Anand and Praveen). We’re trying our best to organise the tournament in a safe way. The event’s name is ‘Hap Cup,’ meaning ‘happiness’. The matches will be live streamed on social media platform. JP Dalal, minister of agriculture and farmer welfare, animal husbandry and dairying fisheries in the Haryana government, will inaugurate the tournament,” Ravi Chauhan, the Secretary of PCCAI said.

All the guidelines that have been issued by the Govt of India to stop the spread of Corona Virus will be adopted by the Tournament,” the PCCAI said in a statement.

There would be three teams Harley XI Masters, Anand XI Stars, and Praveen XI Heroes that will play the tournament. The 3 Captains who will lead the teams in showcasing their abilities and delight the global audiences in spite of their limitations are:-

Harley XI Masters – Jaswant Rajpurohit
Anand XI Stars – Jagmohan Singh
Praveen XI Heroes – Jasmail Singh

December 3 is observed as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities since 1992. According to the United Nations ‘2030 – Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’ which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), applicable disability and people with disabilities are explicitly referenced in selected goals. Sport encourages individual development, promotes gender equality, social integration, communications, social integration and economic development.
