Ben Stokes tries to save his wicket.

The cricket followers couldn’t have asked for a better World Cup final than the one unfolded at Lord’s last month. England lifted the cup for the first time after the clash went into the Super Over that eventually ended in a tie but the hosts were declared the winners as they had hit more boundaries.

There were a lot of interesting as well as controversial moments in the match and one of them came when a throw from the deep by Martin Guptill went for a boundary after getting deflected from Ben Stokes’ bat.

The incident will now be reviewed in September, Marylebone Cricket Club said on Monday.

England won the World Cup for the first time in the history of the game while New Zealand suffered a defeat in the finals for the second time on the trot.
