Rohit Sharma, the vice-captain of the Indian team, has been selected as the best cricketer of the 2019 ODI. The ICC has awarded him the title of 2019 ODI Cricketer of the Year. Popularly known as Hitman, Rohit Sharma had scored seven centuries in ODIs in 2019. Out of these, he scored five centuries in the ICC World Cup.

Rohit Sharma had scored the most runs in the World Cup played in England and Wales. Rohit had scored 648 runs in nine matches in this tournament. Rohit Sharma was not only the World Cup but also the highest run-scorer in the whole year. He scored 1490 runs in 28 ODIs at an average of 57.30 in 2019. Virat Kohli was second in terms of scoring the most runs in 2019. He scored 1377 runs in 26 matches at an average of 59.86 this year. These included five centuries.

Virat Kohli has also received the ICC Awards 2019. He has been awarded the Spirit of Cricket of 2019 by the ICC. Kohli (Virat Kohli) has been given this award for his behaviour against Australia in the World Cup. During this match, spectators were shouting slogans against Steve Smith and David Warner of Australia. Then Kohli stopped him from doing so.

Interestingly, Rohit Sharma got this award just after his first match of 2020. The beginning of 2020 has not been good for Rohit. He was dismissed after scoring just 10 runs in the first ODI against Australia. The Indian team had to face defeat by 10 wickets in this match.

Talking about the overall ODI record of Virat Kohli, he has a world record of scoring three double centuries. His ODI career is about 13 years old. In these years, he has played 222 ODIs and scored 8954 runs at an average of 48.92. These include 28 centuries and 43 half-centuries.
