Former India captain MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi has lashed out at the media for spreading “false news”. Sakshi took to Twitter and asked the media to put a full stop for the kind of news they had been running about the wicket-keeper batsman.
The tweet though didn’t really specify what it was directed to. Dhoni has been out of the Indian team for quite some time. He last played for the country during the World Cup in 2019 where India bowed out of the tournament after losing to New Zealand.
He was also omitted from the list of the centrally contracted players by the BCCI while wasn’t a part of the Indian limited-overs setup that toured New Zealand earlier this year.
But the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper had started practicing for the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the franchise side at Chepauk before the cash-rich league was postponed till April 15 due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
With the country lockdown till April 14, the IPL is slated to get further delayed.
MS Dhoni will play in the T20 World Cup: Childhood coach Keshav Ranjan Banerjee
Dhoni might have not played international cricket for a long time now but his childhood coach Keshav Ranjan Banerjee feels that he will be a part of the side for the World T20 scheduled to take place later this year in Australia. Well, the World T20 is also under dark clouds after the reports suggested that Australia had gone under lockdown for the next six months.
“But my sixth sense says he will get a chance in the T20 World Cup, which will be his last,” Banerjee told PTI in an exclusive interview.
Dhoni led Team India in the inaugural World T20 in 2007 and led them to victory in the final against Pakistan.
