Former India captain MS Dhoni might have stayed away from the game for quite some time but his fan following doesn’t seem to go down.
Dhoni has been praised by out-of-favour Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal who has called him as the best wicket-keeper batsman that India has ever produced.
“Best wicketkeeper-batsman India has ever produced, who has achieved so much for Indian cricket. It is unbelievable,” Akmal said in an interview with Sawera Pasha on YouTube.
Dhoni has been out of action since India’s semi-final match against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019. He missed the tour to New Zealand while wasn’t in the squad for the South Africa series that was scheduled to take place at home but was eventually cancelled.
MS had been seen striking the ball during CSK’s training camp at Chepauk and the aggressive batsman was expected to return to action with the IPL.
The cash-rich league was postponed for an indefinite time due to the pandemic but if the reports are to be believed, it will now take place in UAE.
Dhoni has led India to wins in World T20 2007, 50-over World Cup in 2011 and Champions trophy 2013. Apart from this, CSK has won the IPL thrice.
