Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has once again found himself in controversy after Suresh Raina has responded to his ex-teammate’s remarks of being MS Dhoni’s favourite cricketer.
Raina has said that he was supported by Dhoni because of his talent. “I would say MS definitely supported me, he supported me because he knew I have talent, I have done it for him, for CSK and Team India, whenever he supported me,” Raina said during an interaction for FanCode on Tuesday.
The two cricketers have played for India and played major roles in the team’s winning triumph during the ICC World Cup 2011 under Dhoni.
Earlier, Yuvraj has said that Suresh Raina was Dhoni’s favourite and was backed by the then skipper. “Suresh Raina had larger support then because MS used to back him.”
Yuvraj has been in the news for quite sometime now since his retirement. From facing a bakclash for urging people to make donations for Shahid Afridi’s foundation to making a controversial statement about Virat Kohli and Dhoni of not really supporting him.
While Yuvraj has hung his boots, Raina has been out of contention for quite a long time. The left-handed batsman has represented India in 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is and 18 Tests.
