Australian batsman Usman Khawaja has reacted to the recent cancellation of New Zealand and England tour of Pakistan. He believes that Pakistan has proved that the country is safe for cricket by organizing the PSL safely. Kangaroo player said that other countries should not cancel the tour of Pakistan.
Khawaja has also said that money speaks, it can be done with Pakistan and Bangladesh, but no one will do it against India.
Khawaja said, “I think it is very easy for players and institutions to deny Pakistan because it is Pakistan. I think it would have been the same thinking even if it was about Bangladesh, but if India was in this situation, no one would deny it.”
He further said, “Paisa speaks hai, we all know this and this is probably a big reason behind it. They (Pakistan) have been proving time and again through their tournaments that it is a safe place to play cricket. I think there is a reason for us not to go back.”
Let us tell you that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) surprised everyone by canceling the tour of Pakistan on Monday. The British were to visit Pakistan for a series of two T20 matches just before the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, but England canceled their tour.
Earlier on Friday, the Blackcaps suddenly refused to go ahead with the tour of Pakistan before the first match of the ODI series. The New Zealand Cricket Board (NCB) believed that Pakistan was an unsafe country, due to which they decided not to play the series due to security reasons.
