Former cricketer and Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh is known for making bold statements and this time he has taken on the ex-captain MS Dhoni and the current skipper Virat Kohli.
Yograj has said that a number of people have backstabbed Yuvraj including Dhoni and Kohli. In an exclusive interaction with News24, Yograj said, “Along with these two (Dhoni and Kohli), I would say that even the selectors betrayed him.”
Earlier, Yuvraj had also made some shocking statements about Dhoni and Kohli. Yuvraj revealed that Suresh Raina was Dhoni’s favourite and therefore, got a place in the side despite not performing upto the mark while went on to say that he didn’t really get much support from the two players.
Yuvraj made his debut for India during the ICC knockout tournament back in 2000 while represented the side in 2003, 2007 and 2011 World Cup. India finished as runners up in 2003 under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy while had a dismal run in 2007 tournament after bowing out in the first round itself under Rahul Dravid’s leadership.
But the team did turn the fortunes in 2011 edition at home and lifted the trophy for the second time in ODI cricket under Dhoni. Virat was also a part of the Indian setup in 2011. Yuvraj was adjudged man of the series for his brilliant all-round performance. The left-handed cricketer also played the World T20 in 2007 that India won after beating Pakistan in the final under Dhoni’s captaincy.
