MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi has slammed the trolls after a hashtag ‘#DhoniRetires’ started trending on Twitter. Sakshi has said that people have lost mental stability and cleared the picture on the former skipper’s plans.
“Its only rumours! I understand Lockdown has made people mentally unstable! #DhoniRetires .. Get a life!,” Sakshi tweeted but later deleted it.
Dhoni has been out of the Indian team since the side’s exit from World Cup 2019 after losing to New Zealand in the semi-final match.
The right-handed batsman missed the New Zealand tour while his name was also missing from the squad list for South Africa ODIs at home. He was also ommitted from the BCCI’s list of contracted players.
Thoug, he began practicing for the IPL with his franchise CSK at Chepauk stadium but the coronavirus outburst forced Dhoni to stay away from the nets. He was expected to make the return to Indian side after the IPL but the cash-rich league has now been postponed indefinitely.
Earlier, India needed some 112 runs from almost 11 overs when Dhoni walked in. He scored 42* off 31 but failed to take India over the line.
England eventually won the match by 31 runs and later lifted the World Cup for the first time.
