Former India captain Kapil Dev will be Haryana’s Sports University’s first Chancellor, state sports minister Anil Vij announced on Saturday. Popularly known as ‘Haryana Hurricane’, the right-handed all-rounder led India to their first-ever World Cup triumph back in 1983 after beating West Indies in the final.
“Although the final nod for the university is pending with the President of India, but remaining all formalities have been completed”, Anil Vij told The Indian Express.
