Star England pacer Archer will undergo COVID 19 test before the series against the West Indies. Meanwhile the Windies squad has landed in England to play the series in bio–secure conditions.

Archer was named in the 55 member training squad for the summer. Many English payers have resumed individual training . Ben Stokes who will be leading the squad in the first Test has hit the deck, so has all- rounder Chris Woakes. Jofra Archer and his family appeared for the COVID-19 Test and the first test report was negative.

They will have to undergo one more test before he can join the camp on 25th June.

Archer has so far played 7 Tests and 14 ODIs for England and had played a significant role in England’s World cup winning campaign last year.

England will host West Indies for a three Test series which gets underway on July 8 th , and conclude on 28 th July. Following that Pakistan will be touring England for a Test and ODI series which kicks off on July 30 th , with the T/20 Series.

It has been reported that as many as 10 top Pakistani Cricketers have tested COVID-19 Positive, the tour seems to be in jeopardy, however, the English and Wales Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board are putting up a brave front, and say they are confident to go ahead as per schedule.
