International cricket is set to make a comeback, after the COVID-19 forced Hiatus, with West Indies set to tour England from July for a three-Test series. The details are as follows:

  1. First Test July 8 to 12 Southampton
  2. Second Test July 16 to 20 at Manchester
  3. Third Test July 24 to 28 at Manchester

English Captain Joe Root said that he would probably miss the first test as it will clash with the birth of his Child,he backed Ben Stokes to take the reins in his absence.

Roots wife Carrie is due to give birth to their second child in early July. Root said he is in discussion whether he would be able to leave the on site hotel and return to the bio-secure venue.

“It is being discussed with the medical team and will finally come down to government guidelines,and we have to follow those protocols ” he said.

Heaping praise on his charismatic deputy Ben Stokes he said one of his great quality is the” example he sets , the way he goes about his training and the way he stands up to difficult scenarios with bat and ball”

“I love to have him as my vice captain and see him doing a great job as Captain.”
