India women’s team leveled the series against West Indies in Antigua after beating them by 53 runs in the second game. Batting first, India managed to score 191/6 in 50 overs after Punam Raut scored 77 while captain Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur chipped in with 40 and 46 respectively.
In reply, Indian bowlers struck early after removing Stacy-Ann King for 6 but the hosts soon steadied the ship. The score sheet read 78 when the second wicket went down and this was followed by a flurry of wickets. West Indies were soon left tottering at 105/7 before getting bowled out for 138.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav and Deepti Sharma scalped a couple of wickets apiece. The two teams will play the third ODI on Wednesday at the same venue.
