India’s pace attack continued their form in the first innings against South Africa in Ranchi after reducing them to 9/2 before Stumps on Day 2. In pursuit of India’s 497/9 (D), South Africa had a dismal start to the proceedings in this Test as well.

Earlier, opener Rohit Sharma smashed his double ton while vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane notched a hundred for India. Apart from this, Ravindra Jadeja’s 51 and a late surge from Umesh Yadav helped India post a big total yet again. George Linde scalped four wickets for South Africa while Kagiso Rabada picked a three-for.

South Africa have already lost the series after suffering defeats in Vizag and Pune.
