India have grabbed a big lead of 326 runs in the second Test against South Africa in Pune after wrapping the Proteas’ first innings for 275. The Faf du Plessis-led team was reduced to 162/8 before Keshav Maharaj and Vernon Philander joined hands nad led a superb fightback for their side. The two compiled a partnership of 109 runs for the ninth wicket.

Maharaj struck career-best 72 while Philander who came into bat with a pair in the previous game remained unbeaten at 44. For India, R Ashwin scalped four wickets while Umesh Yadav picked three in the innings.
