But as far as India and Australia encounters are considered on the biggest stage of the game, the Kangaroos are well ahead of the Men in Blue. India and Australia have played each other 11 times in a World Cup and the Australians lead 8-3. While the Australian team are in a big lead, both the sides stand at 1-1 if we take a look at their last couple of matches.
India played Australia in the quarter-final of the 2011 World Cup and won that match by 5 wickets. Riding on Ricky Ponting’s 104, Australia managed to score 260/6 in 50 overs. The two sides then met in 2015 edition’s semi-final and Michael Clarke and co. made took the revenge of 2011. Once again batting first, Australia posted 328/7 in 50 overs and bundled out India for 233 runs to win the match by 95 runs.
