India will host the 2021 Men’s World T20 while Australia will be the hosts for the 2022 edition. Apart from this, the 50-over women’s World Cup has been postponed until 2022.

It was originally scheduled to be held in New Zealand between February 6 and March 7 2021.

“We now have absolute clarity on the future of ICC events enabling all of our Members to focus on the rescheduling of lost international and domestic cricket. We will now proceed as planned with the Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in India and host the 2022 edition in Australia,” ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said.

A number of cricket activities came to a standstill after the COVID-19 outburst. The World T20 was also scheduled later this year in Melbourne but it now seems that the tournament would might get postponed according to a report in The Daily Telegraph.

The live circket though returned after West Indies began the series against England. The Carribbean side are in England for a three-match Tests series. They took 1-0 lead after beating the hosts by 4 wickets in Southampton.

The IPL earlier was postponed for an indefinite time after the coronavirus outburst. UAE will now host the cash-rich league.
