King without a crown! These two words fit on Team India for this year’s cricket. The Indian cricket team did not even reach the final of the World Cup this year. Let’s start with the most wins in a year. India won the most 19 matches this year. Their success rate was 70.37%. India played 28 matches in 2019 in total. They lost in 8 of these matches. One match did not yield results. West Indies also played the same number of matches in the year. In this way, both teams jointly ranked number-1 in terms of most matches played in a year. The West Indies could only win 10 matches in a year.
The Indian team lost only 8 out of 28 matches in 2019. This figure cannot be called bad. But hardly forget the defeat of New Zealand in the semi-final of the Indian Cricket-loving World Cup. Not only this that India won the most matches in a year, but their players also kept ahead in personal records. Rohit Sharma scored the most runs in ODI cricket this year. He scored 1490 runs in 27 innings of 28 matches at an average of 57.30. Indian captain Virat Kohli was second in terms of scoring the most runs. He scored 1377 runs in 26 matches. West Indies’ Shai Hope finished third with 1345 runs. Australia’s Aaron Finch (1276) was fourth and Pakistan’s Babar Azam (1092) was at number five.
Most wickets in ODI cricket was taken by Mohammed Shami of India. He played 21 matches in the year and took 42 wickets. Trent Bolt finished second with 38 wickets in 20 matches. Lockie Ferguson (35) of New Zealand was third, Mustafizur Rahman (34) of Bangladesh was fourth and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (33) of India was at number five. Kuldeep remained at number six in this list with 32 wickets. India’s spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal also took a lot of wickets this year. Yuzvendra Chahal was at number nine with 29 wickets.
Indian players also got the most century in the year. Rohit Sharma scored seven centuries in a year. He faced his own captain Virat Kohli in the matter of scoring a century. Kohli scored five centuries in a year. In this way, only two Indian batsmen remained in the top-2 in terms of scoring the most centuries in the year. Aaron Finch and Shai Hope finished at number three, scoring four centuries each. David Warner, Jason Roy, Jos Butler, Johnny Bairstow, Babar Azam, Martin Guptill, Joe Root, Imam Ul Haq and Andy Balbirni scored three centuries each.
Chris Gayle of West Indies hit the most sixes in 2019. He hit 56 sixes in 17 matches. Indian players could not make it to the top-3 in this race. Rohit Sharma jointly stood at number three with 36 sixes. England captain Eoin Morgan finished second in the year with 41 sixes. Australia’s Aaron Finch also hit 36 sixes in the year. Jos Butler was at number five with 32 sixes.
