India on Sunday created history against New Zealand after beating the hosts by 7 runs in Mount Maunganui in the fifth and final T20I. The Men in Blue completed a clean-sweep win and this was the first instance that a team had won a five-match series 5-0.

Rohit Sharma who was handed over the captain’s hat in absence of Virat Kohli chose to bat after winning the toss. India managed to score 163/3 in allotted 20 overs. Sharma scored 60 off 41 before getting retired hurt while KL Rahul struck 45 off 33.

In reply, Jasprit Bumrah led the bowling attack from the front and scalped a three-for at the cost of just 12 runs in 4 overs. New Zealand were eventually restricted to 156/9 in 20 overs.
